D2C Ecommerce Growth Manager
D2C Ecommerce Growth Manager
Remote (South Africa) · Contractor · Part-time to Full-time
THE ROLE
We’re looking for an experienced D2C Ecommerce Growth Manager to help run and grow an established consumer ecommerce brand.
This is a broad, commercially focused role for someone who understands how the different parts of ecommerce fit together and can take ownership of profitable online growth.
You’ll work closely with the leadership team and may also coordinate with freelancers, agencies and other specialists. Depending on your strengths, you may be directly hands-on in some areas while managing external support in others.
AREAS OF FOCUS
The primary goal of the role is profitable and sustainable ecommerce growth.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Overall D2C ecommerce and growth strategy
- Shopify management and conversion optimisation
- Meta advertising and creative strategy
- Google Ads
- SEO and organic acquisition
- Email and retention marketing (Klaviyo or equivalent)
- Organic social and content
- Ecommerce analytics and reporting
- Coordinating and managing freelancers or agencies
You won’t necessarily be expected to be an expert or hands-on practitioner across every channel. We’re looking for someone who understands the full ecommerce growth picture, has particular areas of strength, and knows when to execute directly versus work with specialists.
The exact scope can be shaped around your experience and the needs of the business.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 3–5+ years of hands-on D2C ecommerce experience
- Experience working with Shopify or similar ecommerce platforms
- Experience growing consumer brands, ideally selling into the UK, US or European markets
- A strong ecommerce generalist who understands acquisition, conversion and retention
- Hands-on expertise in at least some major growth channels, such as Meta Ads, Google Ads, email, SEO or CRO
- Comfortable managing freelancers, agencies or other specialists where required
- Strong understanding of ecommerce metrics including CAC, ROAS, AOV, conversion rate, LTV and contribution margin
- Data-driven approach: able to identify trends, test hypotheses and use results to make commercial decisions
- Strong written and spoken English
- Able to work remotely with meaningful overlap with UK business hours
Experience within beauty, fashion, wellness, consumer goods or another D2C-focused sector is a plus, but not essential.
