InclusivelyRemote: Why Freedomjobs.co.za is a great alternative

Have you heard about inclusivelyremote.com? You may have. It’s a prominent site that aims to represent marginalised groups like workers in the Global South and females.

In this review we weigh up the pros and cons of the site.

The site has a fresh, clean and modern look and feel. Although there was a problem with the site’s SSL (security certificate) which gave me an error and a warning “this site is unsafe”. But that’s not a big issue if you are not sending confidential info so I carried on to the site. It looks like it has quite a good range of jobs from across the globe.

It is definitely slanted towards Africa as lots of the reviews were from Kenya and Nigeria.

Cons of the site:

  • but….not very many jobs for Africa or South Africa….that’s where our site, freedomjobs.co.za leads the way!
  • You need to PAY to see more than a couple of jobs…not great if you are starting out. We don’t charge for access to our jobs.

You need to create a profile to be able to apply for a job. You need to login first to do this.

In terms of remote jobs for South Africans, there were only a couple. That may be the problem. It tries to be so inclusive that it ends up catering to almost everyone! And there are large sites like weworkremotely.com and others for those general jobs.

Freedomjobs.co.za (our site) is a good alternative for South Africans

So, if you are a South African and looking for remote jobs I’d rather plug our site than inclusivelyremote.com.

We hand-pick and vet remote jobs from companies ACTUALLY looking for South Africans specifically. So there are no surprises like on general remote job boards. Have a look at our jobs here – freedomjobs.co.za/jobs
