SALARY: 6 USD per hour/ R110.04 per hour

  • REMUNERATION (USD$): $6 per hour. $285 – $715 per month – It all depends on the schedule you choose.

Duties & Responsibilities

POSITION DETAILS  

  • Start Date: 
    • Immediately upon the completion of the recruitment process.
  • Teaching Hours:
    • Mon- Fri 12:30 – 15:30 SAST (afternoon shifts only).
    • Weekend blocks: 2h30-6h30, 07h30-09h30, 12h30-15h30 SAST.
    • Set rotation, set off days.
    • From February 2024 – additional classes are available from 07h30-16h30 (Mon-Fri) and 02h30-16h30 (Weekends) SAST.
    • You get paid for the hours that you teach.
    • Approximately 30 hours per week depending on your chosen shift schedule.
  • Students: 
    • Teaching kids and adults based in Asia.
  • Contract type:
    • You will be contracted by The Really Great Teacher Company as an Independent Service Provider.
  • Location:
    • Work from the convenience of your home.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Requirements

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree.
  • Completed, accredited 120-hour TEFL certification or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching children is advantageous.
  • Computer literate.
  • No criminal record.

 

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS (NON-NEGOTIABLE) 

  • PC specifications:
    • Processor: Intel ® Core™ i5 CPU @2.0GHz (4 CPUs) or greater.
    • Memory: 8GB RAM or greater.
  • Backup power:  
    • Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) with a battery life of up to 4-5 hours (2000VA) (or willing to purchase before commencing teaching). This is applicable and a non-negotiable requirement for candidates based in a country where regular power interruptions occur.
  • A stable fibre internet connection: 
    • At a minimum of 20 Mbps upload and download speeds.
    • PC is connected via a LAN cable and not via a Wi-Fi connection.
  • Noise-cancelling headsets and HD web camera:
    • Backup headset is highly recommended.
  • Tidy, well-lit, and quiet teaching environment.
